ABOUT
Travel is one of life’s greatest pleasures. The thrill of “up close and personal” discovery leads me to search for vignettes which will inspire me at my painting desk upon my return home…
Usually painting from photographs I have taken, watercolour affords me the challenge of interpreting what I saw coupled with the excitement of unexpected changes that this medium often produces!
Travel inspires me – Latin America, South Asia, Europe, Africa, Russia, Canada and the United States have all provided provocative material and creative inspiration.
Fine and decorative arts have been part of my entire life. I grew up in Montreal in an extended family of art collectors. My studies began at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (instructed by Arthur Lismer), a year at the Fine Arts Dept. of Mt. Allison University, watercolour classes at the Catholic University, Lima, Peru and more recently classes in Victoria with gifted teachers Jennifer Olson, Sam Boehmer & Leslie Redhead.
